A botanical spirit, ESCUBAC, sits somewhere between gin, aquavit, and herbal liqueurs in terms of flavor and style.
14 botanicals, including caraway, nutmeg, citrus, and cardamom are macerated in spirit for 72 hours before being distilled slowly in a custom pot still. The clean, intensely aromatic spirit that's captured from the still (thanks to its distinctive helix coil head) is then steeped with raisins and vanilla for a further 72 hours and colored with saffron, giving it a light golden color.
On the nose: Tropical, Christmas spice aromas. Mix of nutmeg and citrus fruit.
On the palate: Juicy, herbal, dried fruit. Sugar-soaked raisins, cinnamon, clove, and cardamom give way to a full finish with herbal notes. Long, spicy.
