For centuries, Basque fishermen relied on the indigenous Hondarribi Zuri grape for a drink to take on their voyages. Today the Txakoli produced by these same ocean-sprayed vines continues to be their refreshment of choice and accompaniment to the fruits of their labor.
Lighter-bodied, dry, lightly effervescent. Just a hint of copper color from red Hondarrabi Beltza, Balea starts with citrus and nectarine on the nose and follows with apple and sea-foam on the palate. Balanced minerals and acids on the finish. Pair with seafood, steamed shellfish, smoked fish as well as cured meats.
