In his travels to Japan to study tea production, Kori learned how farmers in Shizuoka produce high-quality matcha green tea without pesticides. For a portion of the harvest, matcha tea leaves are shaded from sunlight, giving it a vibrant green color and an abundant amount of amino acid called theanine. Theanine gives it an umami like flavor and is also where many health benefits are supposed to be derived from. It can be served hot or iced, with or without milk, and even used as an ingredient in foods like pastries.
Included in the set are a Chasen (whisk) and Chasaku, a spouted bowl (Chawan) for frothing and easy pouring, two small cups, a full bag of Matcha Factory (20 servings) matcha, and a recipe card.
